The Drive-Time Commute

According to this article in the P.I., the collective 'we' spent nearly two days in traffic (as of two years ago.) I'm not sure if 'Seattle-area' takes Pierce County into account or not but still... on the now more rare days that I might carpool into work (dropping her off in Bellevue while I continue on to our fair city) it is taking 2 - 2.5 hours by taking Highway 18 to I-90. Although I do concede that this route is a bit round-about, this is what the insanity on Hwy 167 and I-405 lead us to.

So, to an extent, I am surprised that we get off so easily at 45 hours.

Inaugural Post

My intention with this blog is to use it to comment on my new place of residence; Bonney Lake, Washington and the immediate area. I somewhat reluctantly moved here from the Pioneer Square area of downtown Seattle and am ever so slowly adapting to life in the suburbs and trying not to sneer at my new neighbors. You have been warned.

For those that may not know, Bonney Lake is a small bedroom community of roughly 14,000 that clings tenaciously onto a narrow strip of Highway 410 between Sumner and Buckley. The nearest civilization (i.e. jobs) is Seattle, 40 miles north. (That's right Tacoma, I intentionally left you out.)

I have a huge stake in the continuing development of this community as I live here with my soon-to-be wife in our suburban home and try to do life.
